Total Immersion
Silent Meditation Retreat 11th June - 2 July 2010
I'd like to invite all my dharma friends to this year's Total Immersion retreat in June. It's the best public event I do, there's a great team, and I'd like this year's retreat to have some real edge! The dates are 11th June to 2nd July and there's a two week option. Think about it - its pretty much the only 'all comers' retreat I do now and it's always very good!
The emphasis is on meditation and reflection in natural surroundings. It's a Buddhafield camping retreat and the location is beautiful. There will be daily teachings, discussions about practice and opportunities for personal meditation interviews. Plenty of personal space. Great food! Inspiring rituals and chanting.
See Buddhafield website for details (link in title above)

Sadhana Retreat
for men Order members Padmaloka 17-23 July (with Lokesvara)
The teachings on this event will illustrate how to approach visualisation, the purpose of sadhana in our tradition, and its connection with other practices - especially with vipashyana meditations like the six element practice - and everyday life. The retreat is for all sadhana practices, though time will be given to the particular sadhanas of those attending (kula groups is a possibility). All content will be adjusted to the needs of those attending.
Suitable both for those who have difficulties and want to make more sense of their sadhana practice, and those who simply want to get on with deepening their practice. See Padmaloka website for details.

Five Freedoms retreat for men Order members Padmaloka 9 - 19th August (with Satyaraja and Dharmadipa). The 'Five freedoms' are the main antidote meditations to the five poisons: mindfulness of breathing, metta bhavana, meditation on death and impermanence, the 6 element practice and contemplation of the 24 nidanas - thus including, with the basic shamatha practices, the three central vipashyana meditations taught by Sangharakshita. See Padmaloka website for details
